2025 Clunes Booktown Festival showcasing life stories

We had a fantastic showing at the Clunes Booktown Festival again this year with an engaging stall and sold-out workshop. LSA members Susan Pierotti and Michelle Scheibner led a successful workshop focused on uncovering and writing about family trauma to thirty-six aspiring life story writers. The workshop was a resounding success, and many participants visited the LSA booth afterwards to talk about their memoir or family history project.

Representing LSA were Deborah Gough, Timothy Syrota, Des Tobin and Sally-Anne Watson Kane who shared insights on capturing life stories across various formats as books, films or audio recordings. Examples of LSA members’ work were on display, and many people requested more information and purchased books.  Well done Clunes for another successful Booktown Festival and thanks to our members for operating the stall and showcasing life story work.
